As If Productions (AIP) is the web studio of Tod Foley, specializing in the development of custom interactive systems.
Founded in 1991, AIP has designed and produced immersive websites, virtual worlds, roleplaying games, CD-ROM games, LARPs and live interactive events for clients including Comedy Central, 20th Century Fox Films, Sony/Epic Records, Times-Mirror Magazines, Walt Disney Records, Revelations Entertainment, Iron Crown Enterprises, and The WELL. No matter what type of interactive system you have in mind, we're here to bring it to life.
Consulting, design, programming and production services for interactive games, events, gameshows, performances and contests featuring live online players/participants.
A lightweight customizable and affordable CMS for small businesses, allowing budget-conscious business owners to gain dynamic control of their websites without spending an arm and a leg.
In spring 2007, AIP created a mini-web of mini-Drupal sites (seven sites in one) for Joint Oceanographic Institutions (now the Consortium for Ocean Leadership). This system allows personnel from each of the organization's seven programs to separately manage their own page content, press releases, multimedia files and newsletters. Art Design by Janin Cliff Design. Javascript and cross-browser CSS wizardry by Tofa Kagurabadza. (NOTE: site has since been redesigned)
This custom Drupal site is the first in a series of template releases for different geographical regions. By using a multi-tiered search mechanism, users are able to search for available escorts in their area or destination, and filter those results by keywords of their choosing. The WebSite's unique layout and design was created by Photography100.com, and modified by AIP into a custom Drupal theme.
AIP was hired by QBSnet to bring their CMS up to speed, allowing more flexibility and control in the creation and distribution of their monthly newsletters for California business buyers and sellers.
Another wacky round of side-splittingly-honest products from the sardonicists at Cerebral Itch, this site features a variety of witty T-shirts topped with heaping mounds of 'tude. Code-wise, it's a variation on the original Axis CMS system that powers the main Cerebral Itch site - now enhanced with our new Gender Discretion Module.* Stop in and smell the Sarcasm! Site design and T-shirt designs by Paul Chamberlain.
Therapies for fibromyalgia sufferers, from clinical hypnotherapist Viviane Oberhand. AIP created this website in record time using Drupal 5.1. Design based on a theme by Siteground5, with graphics by Robert Oberhand.
AIP did a live database and platform migration for the popular site dlisted.com when blogger Michael K decided to move from WordPress to Drupal. The customized theme is based on "Amadou" by Jay Wolf, with art by Mark Robinson.
ThePalace was (and still is) an amazing piece of social software: a Palace site is a programmable, graphical chat room - complete with avatars, cartoon balloons, games and animations - which can be used to simlate entire virtual worlds. AIP began designing Palace sites way back in the beta days of 1996. Over the next several years we created various Palace-related gizmos & doodads, many of which eventually found their way to this page.
Support the game designs and theoretical work of As If Productions. Written especially for roleplayers, GMs, game designers, artists and neophiles who are interested in experimental applications of narrative engineering.
